Heresy, or Other Campgrounds in the WDW Area
OK, I admit it I am hooked on Fort Wilderness.
But, I know there are times when Fort Wilderness is not an option, so here
are the campgrounds within a reasonable distance to the Disney
complex. The descriptions and maps below are from the websites of
the campgrounds. I have not stayed at any of them so I can't hazard
an opinion. Additionally they are listed in alphabetical order,
rather than the order of any preference.
| Fort
Summit KOA Kampground |
Vacationers seeking economical
accommodations near Walt Disney World® will be pleased with Fort
Summit KOA Campground, situated together with the Best Western
Maingate South of the Magic Kingdom on 45 acres of high, dry land.
Both campground and hotel have the value-added bonus of free shuttle
bus service to Walt Disney World®'s theme parks, via a 45-passenger
bus. Attraction tickets may be purchased in advance at the hotel and
at great prices, smoothing the way past ticket lines into America's
favorite theme park. Recreational vehicle campers will appreciate
Fort Summit Camping Resort, which is more than a campground - it's a
resort located along with the hotel on I-4 at exit 55 (formerly exit
23), just seven miles west of the new World Drive entry to Walt
Disney World Resort. The campground has a Trailer Life rating of
9-9.5 *8, Woodall's 5-W and KOA Gold Rating.
